This is a blog for, and about, science at CHIME Charter Middle School. Specifically, this is a place for our 6th grade scientists to try activities, read science news relevant to their lives, and blog about their experiences.

ReplyDeletei had alot of fun learning about the rock cycle mis. davis i learn how metemorhic rock s made by heat and pressure and how it has thin layers and it loosley compacted ialso liked how we melted the crayons to comparence to a rock hat was very cool from: brianna bongiorno 6c
ReplyDeleteHi Brianna! I'm so glad you like this. I too love learning about the rock cycle this way, not to mention how killer your raps were! If you listen to your posted video here you can hear me laughing! It was great :)
ReplyDeleteI love this!!!!! when our team made a rap we was so good!i like how its educational AND fun. i also like it because it gets stuck in your head and then you remember it during a test or something. i also like working with partners.
ReplyDeleteThis activity was so fun, and it was educational too! I really don't like learning about all of the types of rocks, but these raps helped me remember facts about them. I especially liked the one with Declan, Luke, Morgan, and Ellis. They had such a catchy rap, I couldn't get it out of my head for days! The part where they get to metamorphic rocks, I found really helpful. Metamorphic rocks are thin and shiny. They're were so many analogies in all of these raps. It really helped me remember that any rock can turn into any other type of rock, metamorphic rocks are formed by heat and pressure, and that the slower sedimentary rocks cool; the larger the crystals are! This activity was so fun to watch and participate in, thanks Ms. Davis for posting it!
ReplyDeleteIt was so fun! I'm watching the video now, and im laughing. We learned how they formed and what they form. They all form different things. Also, they have different types of igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic rocks. I really loved this activity, it was really fun to do with my friends.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking at mine right now, and I'm laughing. It's so funny because me and Ashley mess up, when Brianna and Eitan do it perfectly. Ms. Davis, i'm laughing when you laughed. OMG!! It's really funny also how Ashley kinda dances to it. LOL. I miss last year! :( DARN Also Eitan's beat was really funny Omg
ReplyDeleteOmg!! My voice was so high, its unbelievable!!! Haha omg, I still cant believe its on and that it never gets old. I still have the rap memorized. Haha. Yay!!
ReplyDeleteIm so glad to hear this! It is cool to see how we grow up over the years, yes? Who is this? You didn't sign your name. :)
